And they shall name it, Aulani.

Yesterday we got our first real look at the details surrounding Disney’s newest resort, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai`i, a premier oceanfront resort on the Wai`anae Coast of the island of O`ahu.  Boy, that’s a mouthful!

It looks absolutely spectacular!  The theme will be, you guessed it, Hawaiian culture.

Valarie Sukovaty at Disney Parks Blog posted a really great video of the pardoned Turkey on his trip to Disneyland.  According the DPB, “The turkeys, “Courage” and “Carolina” are on their way as we speak. Tomorrow “Courage” will star in the “Give a Day. Get a Disney Day” Thanksgiving Parade on Main Street, U.S.A at Disneyland park. He and the alternate, “Carolina,” will live out the rest of their days at Big Thunder Ranch.”

You have to check it out!   Love the ears on the ground crew, BTW.

Disney Blog released some new pictures and details of Ari’s first roller coaster, Space Mountain, at Walt Disney World, scheduled to fully re-open on November 21st.  As you all know, this ride is a lot of fun, but it needed some TLC.  The improvements are well appreciated, and I am sure will meet the approval of long-time and new fans alike.

One thing, if they change the soundtrack, they should provide it immediately on itunes… as many of us will download it right away, I am sure.

The Imagineers have also integrated the relatively recent trend of in-line interactive entertainment, aimed at reducing the frustration level while waiting on longer lines.  This is a very important component of modern amusement park immersion, and should continue to be integrated on other rides.  Occupying attention spans, especially with young children, can be challenging.  According to Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Show Designer, Alex Wright, each game lasts about 90 seconds with a 90-second interval and the games can accommodate 86 players at one time.  We’ll try it out and let you know!

There are many other changes as well, but we will report on all those we notice when we are down there.  The images DB released looked really nice; more, please!!!  I can’t wait to take a ride in January.
